Since you mentioned it, sit up. Good posture helps you feel better.
Now let’s talk about your mental posture—the way you’re holding yourself in your mind.
Are things piling up? Do you feel scattered, behind, or like you’re chasing something just out of reach?
Take a step back.
Our culture is designed to pull you forward. To sell you something. To keep you scrolling. To make you feel like you’re always one step behind.
But you’re not. You are exactly where you are. Everything else is a story.
The only truth is your existence right now. You can’t replay the past or think your way into a different future.
What you do in this moment shapes what comes next. What you don’t do will too.
Step one: check your posture.
Your attitude sets the course for everything.
Personally, I think about this all day, so here’s what helps me:
Sit up straight, but stay loose.
Relax the muscles in your face.
Take a few breaths.
Tune in to your full sensory experience.
What you see, both mentally and physically.
What you hear, in the world and in your mind.
What you feel, on your skin and in your body.
What you taste and smell.
Notice how your mind shifts as you switch between senses. Notice the little narrators in your head.
Where does all of this come from? Nobody knows.
Life is a miracle. You’re conscious right now. Be curious about that.
Tell yourself, it’s okay.
