Negative thoughts can significantly impact how you feel. But what can you do right now to stop them?
Ask yourself this simple question: “Are my thoughts useful?”
This question forces you to evaluate the value of your thoughts.
Many negative thoughts are unproductive and serve no purpose; they just make you feel worse.
By observing your thoughts objectively, you can recognize when they're not serving you. For example, if you find yourself thinking, "I'm going to mess this up," ask yourself, "Is this thought useful?" The answer is likely no.
If your thoughts are holding you back, redirect your attention. Instead of getting caught up in negativity, shift your focus to the world around you.
Engage your senses: What do you see, hear, smell, taste, or feel?
Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and let your body dissolve into a cloud of sensation.
Use all of your sensory experiences to anchor yourself in the present moment and break free from negative thought patterns.
Try it now and see the difference.
Have a good day.
