Focus on what’s important to you
Hello, Jake here—hope you’re doing well 💙
Can you believe it’s already September 2024? Time flies.
Here's a fresh perspective: this graph shows how little time we actually have. Each circle represents a month in a 90-year lifespan.
It’s easy to go on autopilot and then wake up one day realizing we haven’t acted on our goals. That realization can feel sad, even frustrating.
But here's the beauty: if we’re conscious right now – It's the perfect time to take action.
Sure, we have to adjust our goals to the reality of the present moment. But that’s always been the case.
Recommendation: take action. Be fearless.
Now, let's define a fresh definition for gratitude. To me, gratitude means working with what you have right now.
Reflecting on what you’re grateful for helps organize your opportunities. So ask yourself – What am I grateful for at this moment? And why?
Your breath, your senses, your ability to speak, or even just walking to the bathroom.
We take these simple things for granted, expecting our lungs to keep pumping until they don't anymore.
When you shift to a mindset of gratitude for these small things, you carry yourself differently. And trust me, people notice.
But it only happens with practice. Culture won’t teach you this. In fact, culture often tricks us into thinking we don't have enough.
Marketing 101: Create anxiety and offer a solution.
Wellness 101: Still your body, focus on the flow of your breath, and repeat.
There's an altruistic muscle in the brain that grows when we do something good for the world. It's part of our human nature. Doing something good for yourself is good for the world.
Exercise that altruistic muscle you carry. Share your gifts with the world, and the rewards will follow.
Wishing you happiness,
Jake Twomey
